Inspector Alleyn again — did she do anybody else? This one centers in the survival of an old folkloric ritual in rural England. I guess that was an emerging area of interest in 1956.

Once again, fun. Some nice surprises. Some clever reasons for confusion about identity, and then the person so well disguised isn't an important part of the crime.
