Book Note: Dudley Pope, The Ramage Touch

I read this book about 30-Jan-2003. This is the first time I've read this book. The book is copyright 1979. This note was last modified Friday, 31-Jan-2003 20:33:43 PST.

This note contains spoilers for the book.

Number 10 of the Lord Ramage series.

Returns to at least vaguely reasonable bounds of accomplishment. Ramage does pull some pretty cool shenanigans with a small detachment of French frigates and some bomb ketches, but nothing as incredible as the West Indies accomplishments of the preceding few books.

He does get captured by the French again, and rescued by his loyal seamenagain.

And, when all is said and done, he doesn't actually stop the French invasion of Egypt (again) anyway; they'd called it off themselves. It's a very strange and somewhat lumpy ending.
