This note contains spoilers for the book.

Figured I'd better read this before the final book comes out!

Things are clearly moving towards crisis. Dumbledore is giving Harry some extra "training", but it's more telling him bits of history. And apparently still not all of them. Harry hates Snape bitterly, especially when Snape gets the defense against the dark arts professorship. And survives the book even.

It's Dumbledore that doesn't, but you already knew that, or didn't care. Snape kills him as the Death Eaters invade Hogwarts.
