Book Note: Dorothy L. Sayers, In the Teeth of the Evidence

I read this book about 1-Apr-2015. I've read this book before. The book is copyright 1939. This note was last modified Sunday, 10-May-2015 18:04:50 PDT.

This is book 14 of the "Lord Peter Wimsey" series.

This note contains spoilers for the book.

A collection of miscelaneous stories, only two of them actually Lord Peter stories (there are also serveral Montague Egg stories).

Note that this was published the same year as The Hobbit.

I'm not going to go through and describe everything, but a couple of unusual stories stayed in my mind.

Blood Sacrifice

This is a fascinating story about a playwright who may have killed the producer who made him rich but not literary by messing up a blood transfusion type-match. It's told in first person, but he's not exactly sure even himself whether he did it or not.

Suspicion

A very strange story about a many who may have contracted for a murder, with a group that seems to handle these things routinely, and which actually does handle it. And returns the self-incriminating letter he left them as security. All for what he feels is a reasonable price.
