I read this book about 28-Feb-2008. I've read this book before. The book is copyright 1930. This note was last modified Thursday, 22-May-2014 19:47:47 PDT.
This is book 6 of the "Lord Peter Wimsey" series.
This note contains spoilers for the book.
I don't seem to have re-read this for a long time.
This is the one where Peter saves Harriet from being convicted of murdering her former lover. Peter prattles on like an idiot, amazingly. Not really knowing how courtship is supposed to take place in that time and place, I don't know how weird it is. We do get a slight hint, in that Mary and Parker do finally get together, with a little help from Peter (in fact, I think Peter encourages them partly to provide cover for his own situation).
This one uses a lot of the same quotes that are in Busman's Honeymoon (#6). Harriet uses the Kai Lung quote, for example (which Peter immediately recognizes and praises). It's Peter that uses it in Honeymoon.
