Book Note: John Barnes, Caesar's Bicycle

This is book 3 of the "Timeline Wars" series.

Caesar is a great politician still. Unfortunately he's on the wrong side. The bicycle-borne legions can travel at tremendous speeds on their wooden bicycles with knotted rope "chains" (well, tremendous for the time).

I can't help noticing that this book, too, features a major fight on a lighter-than-air craft.

The main character manages to get himself crucified at the end, too. Not in place of anybody famous, though.
