Book Note: Arthur C. Clarke, Astounding Days

I read this book about 20-Jan-2009. This is the first time I've read this book. The book is copyright 1990. This note was last modified Friday, 01-May-2009 14:58:00 PDT.

This note does not contain major spoilers for the book.

This is subtitled "A science fictional autobiography", and it is indeed about his career as an SF writer. I believe he published a separate, scientific, autobiography.

I'm very fond of SF author memoirs, and this is a good example of the genre. Clarke wasn't in the US, so he knew different people, and that makes it more interesting. Also, he was involved in quite a lot of space advocacy and science and engineering, and the mention that gets here is also fascinating.
