Book Note: Robert Goldsborough, Archie Meets Nero Wolfe

I read this book about 7-Jul-2015. This is the first time I've read this book. The book is copyright 2012. This note was last modified Monday, 14-Mar-2016 14:21:16 PDT.

This is book 8 of the "Nero Wolfe Continuation" series.

This note does not contain major spoilers for the book.

Quite a while after he took on writing Nero Wolfe continuation stories, Goldsborough went back to chronicle how Archie got his job.

I find this one very unsatisfactory. He doesn't manage a less-confident, less-knowledgable Archie very well, in my opinion. And Archie learns too fast and knows too much, and even survives his first gunfight without any previous experience with handguns (and then gets basic terminology wrong even though he's familiar with rifles). And he slots into his proper place in the household just too quickly and easily.

The others I've read seem a lot better.
