I read this book about 14-Jul-2015. This is the first time I've read this book. The book is copyright 1988. This note was last modified Sunday, 19-Jul-2015 21:43:57 PDT.
Nero Wolfe gets called in on an academic murder. A conservative maverick has been killed, people are thinking suicide, and a colleague thinks the possibility of murder should be investigated. Luckily he has money.
For me this is one of the more successful continuations (note I'm reading them in random order, as I come across them). The plot makes Rex Stout levels of sense, and the character interactions aren't as weirdly off as they sometimes are.
As is common when Wolfe is investigating, the mystery isn't solved until another body turns up; though at least this one actually is a suicide.
