I read this book about 10-Jul-2015. This is the first time I've read this book. The book is copyright 1987. This note was last modified Sunday, 19-Jul-2015 21:49:16 PDT.
Wolfe gets involved in defending the Gazetter from corporate takeover, or at least sale by the family that owns the shares. One of the main shareholders is murdered, but made to look like a suicide. The aggressor is clearly a reference to Rupert Murdoch (though the actual Murdoch is made reference to in the book as also existing).
