Book Note: Kerry Greenwood, The Green Mill Murder

I read this book about 24-May-2017. This is the first time I've read this book. The book is copyright 1993?. This note was last modified Wednesday, 24-May-2017 23:33:12 PDT.

This is book 5 of the "Phryne Fisher" series.

This note contains spoilers for the book.

Lots of jazz. And jazz musicians.

However, the murder is committed by a blow-gun arrangement, shooting out of a special cornet. And that was obvious to me from the moment the murder was committed early on, and Phryne zeroes in on it very slowly. That's always annoying. Maybe it's just that I don't like jazz.

She has to fly into the Australian alps to find the allegedly-dead brother of the person accused of the murder, too. All very messy. And the grownups are all very stupid. That's almost a standard feature of stuff set in this period. I guess, maybe, it's because we're seeing very early modern in the young people, so they seem less stupid.
