I read this book about 13-Nov-2002. I've read this book before. The book is copyright 1994. This note was last modified Saturday, 03-May-2014 21:35:33 PDT.
At a loose end reading-wise for a while, and had to grab a book in a hurry, so jumped back into this series. Glad I did, because book 3 is something of a low point. These last two books raise the standards a bit again. The amout of recap is a bit annoying, but the plots make more sense and there aren't as many annoying continuity errors (though one of them suddenly imposes a new layer in the PD management hierarchy and names new characters to fill the slots, who are never seen on-stage).
I read these out of order, this one really comes after The Assassin.
Oh, the other annoying habbit in this one is to reproduce pages of official police forms. Ick. It's not like it needs to be padded more; with all the recap, it's thick already.
