Book Note: Dudley Pope, Ramage and the Drumbeat

I read this book about 17-Apr-2002. This is the first time I've read this book. The book is copyright 1967. This note was last modified Thursday, 19-Dec-2002 16:30:09 PST.

This note does not contain major spoilers for the book.

Second of the Lord Ramage novels.

Good stuff.

I'd rank the prose as slightly superior to C.S. Forester, definitely inferior to O'Brian. Less depth in the surroundings than O'Brian generally, too. Still very good; less depth than O'Brian is not a ringing condemnation!
