Book Note: Dudley Pope, Ramage & the Guillotine

I read this book about 29-Sep-2002. This is the first time I've read this book. The book is copyright 1975. This note was last modified Saturday, 29-Jul-2006 09:00:32 PDT.

This note contains spoilers for the book.

This time Ramage is sent off to be a spy in France. As usual, he thoroughly exceeds his orders and just barely gets away with it (I think this guy is as bad as Miles Vorkosigan). And nearly all of the expertise is provided by his usual coteris of seaman followers.

Damned depressing view of France of the period, and of the quality of the justice system in operation there.
