Book Note: John Ringo, Kildar

I read this book about 18-Sep-2006. This is the first time I've read this book. The book is copyright 2006. This note was last modified Thursday, 09-Oct-2008 18:30:55 PDT.

This note contains spoilers for the book.

A retired special-forces soldier with money ends up buying a farm in Georgia. The country, not the state. Buying the farm makes him the feudal leader of the local farmers, who turn out to be remnants of Celtic mercenaries employed by the Byzantine empire some time ago. By the end of the book they defend themselves against Chechen terrorists.

Nothing remotaly stfnal about this book; no idea why it's published as SF. A nice training story, with a moderate amount of sex including some very mild BDSM.
