This is book 1 of the "Tori Hunter" series.

Start of a new series, featuring FBI agent Tori Hunter.

New character, Tori Hunter. She eventually finds a serial killer whose first kill was her sister in highschool. A bit clumsy in a number of ways, and she gets a redemption arc that has her leaving the FBI and going home to the small MN town she grew up in. With no obvious potential for future stories.

I don't find this book as gripping as the early McRyan books, but I'll give the series some time. And...very few things I read and enjoy are among the very best things I've ever read.
