Another Zeck book; probably they were near each other on the shelf because of that, and I didn't really pick them at random. The cover of this one also blows another major surpriseā€”it shows panes of the greenhouse on the roof broken by gunfire.

Wolfe continues to try to avoid coming to grips with Zeck, without compromising his self-esteem. So far, it's working; though Zeck isn't making it easier. He actually hires Wolfe for one part of the investigation himself.
