A novel, or a collected series of stories following a family through life. Excellent.

I haven't actually checked back to see if he really said this, but if it's a bunch of lobsters, and quite possibly multiple copies of each upload, acting as a society of mind, I can almost even believe the sentient lobsters impersonating the KGB.

I liked all the stories, and I didn't mind the ending as much as some people seem to have. On the other hand, it's true we never get any explanation of the cat. But then, does one ever, really?
