I liked this a lot more than the immediately preceding Red Thunder.

Mars has permanent residents, including some of the people from the first book (but not the crazy uncle). Then there's a kinetic strike on Earth, and they invade Mars, and our family goes back to rescue a family member, and then they resolve the problem kinda. Not bad really.
