I read this book about 11-Oct-2017. This is the first time I've read this book. The book is copyright 2017. This note was last modified Friday, 13-Oct-2017 10:56:53 PDT.
Herbie Fisher takes front and centert (looks like they may list these as a separate series, maybe).
He's still good at wandering into crazy situations. This time he has a loan-shark after him (from not getting his marker back after paying off a previous loan-shark when he won the lottery), and he's dropped into the middle of a criminal defense where a real-estate developer wants the son of a city council member in jail so he can be used as leverage.
And, as earlier, he thinks his way out mostly on his own, leading to a showdown between the two groups of criminals, who he has cleverly manuipulated into meeting in the house they're holding the daughter of the council member. Herbie triggers the gunfight by shooting into the floor with a gun they haven't noticed he has, and then goes up to rescue the damsel and gets kicked in the balls.
Stone Barrington and Dino also have a lot of action in this book.
