This was my first trip up to the North Shore. Ctein was in town, and we were looking for a destination for a road trip, and the weather forecast called for thunderstorms either Friday or Saturday everywhere else we were considering, so we headed up past Duluth.
Except for the lighthouse (and that not from the classic location), we avoided the major picture locations. The little rivers and falls and rapids were quite nice, though my photos of them don't please me immensely. Some fairly small bits of shoreline also looked interesting, but again more interesting in person than in my photos.
