A spectactular multiple murder in the Wisconsin woods. Inconveniently near where Davenport has his cabin, and he gets involved. There's a child porn ring involved, and a gutsy local doctor who saves Davenport after a child shoots him in the throat.

This one has quite a strong feel of the cold winter weather—it's definitely colder there than here in the Twin Cities.

The doctor becomes an ongoing character.
