My parents spent several weeks in Berkeley in the summer of 1972. All my father's siblings were there at one point or another, and their mother lived there. Those of us from out of the area used a rented house.
This was the last time all the siblings were together in one place. Naturally, the only two pictures I have of all of them together are very badly exposed (and then probably further damaged in an attempt at "intensifying" the negative). And neither of them also includes their mother. What was I thinking?
The tags identifying people are inconsistent and incomplete; if I don't have any id for a person that you recognize, do please let me know. If I'm inconsistent, you could point that out, too. And if you have an opinion on how you should be labeled, I'm at least willing to listen :-). I do try to use the same tag for a person in all my negatives; this often means it doesn't match their legal or social name for significant chunks of time. However, it means I can find all the pictures of them if I just remember that one name.
The first batch of pictures posted here were mostly shot with a "Pocket Instamatic" camera, which takes really tiny negatives (or slides; these were slides). In addition, some were badly underexposed, or in light so contrasty that the extremes were lost. So some of these pictures are pretty drastic rescue jobs, and they often show the consequences of such drastic measures.
