We had the 30th reunion for the Northfield Highschool class of 1972 (yes, I'm that old) on 16-18 August 2002. I'd made the 20th, but missed others before and since. I had a lot of fun. I'm finding it unexpectedly pleasant to see people I knew back then, even if we weren't particularly connected back then. And a number of people I had known fairly well did also come. I guess I didn't have the typically geekish living hell experience in highschool.
I have pictures from the Saturday evening party at the Reub and the Sunday picnic at Eric Schrader's. For whatever reason, I didn't take any Friday night in Dundas.
One of the features of Saturday evening was a powerpoint presentation of photos various people, including me, had sent in. That was particularly fun. I sent in a lot of photos for it, and those are also online here in my snapshot album; use the year index and look at 1969 through 1972. It was a lot of fun seeing pictures other than my own for a change!
I've registered nhs72.org, and hope
soon to have some permanent presence for the class on the web.
Well, I did, but it got lost in the server meltdown a few years later.
I'm working on adding identifications to the pictures. If my experience is any guide, those of you who weren't there will need them to recognize many of us! Although you can read the name tags in some of the Saturday night pictures. It's nearly inevitable that I'll get somebody wrong, or not remember somebody I talked to long enough to have no excuse, so I apologize in advance to anybody so slighted. My especial apologies to people identified only as somebodies spouse.
You can add information to the pictures. View the big version of the picture by clicking on the thumbnail, and there you'll find some boxes at the bottom of the page that you can type into. Put the information you want to add there, and click the submit button.
Oh, and unless I'm reading off a name badge, I'm almost certainly identifying people as they were known in 1972; some of them may have changed their names, and I missed it (or just don't remember the current correct name).
