Rally for the MCPPA

That's the Minnesota Citizens' Personal Protection Act. The re-passage of which is the business before GOCRA and MNCCRN right now.

It was raining lightly, but a nice temperature. We had a good turnout, and the antis didn't even bother with a counter-demonstration this time. I think they know it's going to re-pass, and that it's going to continue to not cause any trouble.

I didn't like the choice of music and the palpable aura of repressive "patriotism", but that's one of the expected problems at events like this. It accurately describes most of the people actively interested in them. And I think has managed to drive away most of the rest.

I haven't tried a count yet, but there are a couple of places where I took a sequence of pictures quickly that, between them, show essentially the whole crowd (not the people at the top of the steps speaking and running sound).

I was pleased at the number of "Minnesota does NOT ban guns on these premises" signs I saw -- because that's one that I came up with, for the birthday party. I guess people liked it.
