States have personalities. My perceptions of those personalities are probably as accurate as most people’s perceptions of the personalities of politicians and celebrities, i.e. pretty distantly related to reality. But it’s fun to play with.
For these purposes, I’ve chosen to divide the states into “good states”, “bad states”, “dull states”, and “strange states”. Strange states may overlap the other categories.
Some states are so dull they don’t even appear on the radar. They should probably be thankful.
